Pacific NW Kitchen in the Trees

This family home suffered from a poorly planned '90s kitchen layout with corner windows, exterior access to the deck, and corner cabinets without optimization.

Kith & Kin Interiors was called to rethink this space to allow for professional grade appliances and space for cooking, coffee, and gathering. We couldn't move any walls, doors, or windows, so we did the only thing we could do; expand into the adjoining dining space and then utilize the space down to the inch with custom storage solutions. The "U" side of the kitchen is the work zone. Sink and range are side by side with ample counterspace for prep work. Cabinets flanking the range house all the utensils, spices, and pots and pans needed to work.

Across the from the work zone is a wall of cabinetry housing the fridge, floor to ceiling pantry, and a hidden countertop coffee and smoothie zone.

We had to get creative with the exposed beam that used to separate kitchen from dining. In order to not draw attention to it, we created a custom, statement hood meant to draw the attention away from the beam and create a focal point in the space.
The color and aesthetics of the space really mimic the park-like exterior of the home. All you see is trees and we brought that warmth and nature inside with the beautiful green-blue cabinetry and complementary wood tones.

Without adding a single square foot onto the house, we managed to give this family their dream kitchen.
