Basement addition for family of 5

When we first walked this project we were walking in an unfinished crawl space with dreams of a guest suite and a secondary hangout zone for a family with 3 kids. Armed with architect drawings and homeowners with a self professed love of color and fun, we got to work creating a bedroom, living area, full bath, and tacked on a main floor powder bath as well.

We had so much fun layering in colorful hard surface selection like a bold, blue bathroom tile, but also soft goods, art, and paint in cheerful colors of pink, lavender, green, and boldy printed wallpaper.
Creating a cohesive design with so many playful elements was a lesson in repetition of elements. Inlay capiz mirrors in different shapes hang in both bathrooms, rattan wall sconces adorn the bedroom and bathroom alike, and timeless brass hardware is scattered across the home.
What resulted was a whimsical, yet sophisticated guest space that reflects the personality of the homeowners perfectly.
