Spa Vibes Ensuite

It's hard to believe that this space was the epitome of 90s luxury. Carpeted flooring, corner jacuzzi tub big enough for 4 and a glistening fiberglass shower stall were the cornerstones of this primary en suite. Obviously the new homeowners were willing to rip out the carpet and repaint the bright tiffany blue paint on the walls to achieve a more modern spa like bathroom, but the new layout and the materials were up to us!
A polished marble looking porcelain tile was selected to cover the floors and the sides of the shower, while we repeated white oak and a white oak mimic tile on the back of the shower for warmth and texture to balance the cold that too much polished stone can give. The corner tub became a large free standing soaking tub, and we added a board and batten wall treatment to break up the many sections of blank walls without having to commit to a bold paint or a wallpaper. The end result is that classic "spa-like" bathroom that many people like, yet feels uniquely special for this home.
